Ecological degradation and measures taken towards rehabilitation within one's country

One of the major problems in the Philippines and in our community is flood, which is caused by heavy rains due to improper garbage disposal that can result to heavy traffic, which is also a major problem in the Philippines. Flood is also caused by illegal logging and cutting down of trees without replacement and with more population growth with less drainage. Flood can affect our daily activities and can also delay many business trips that can affect many people. It can also destroy farm crops and productions from dairy products. During floods, roads, bridges, farms, houses and automobiles are destroyed. People become homeless. additionally, the government deploys firemen, policemen, and other emergency apparatuses to help the affected. all these come at a heavy cause to people and the government. It usually takes years for affected communities to be rebuilt and business to come back to normality. In my own advocacy, I wish to inform the government through internet and media regarding these problems and encourage the people to be more responsible in order for our community to become clean and also so that our environmental problems will be reduced.

I created this action plan because I want to achieve ecological sustainability in the Philippines. I should encourage many people to be involved in this so that our country will become more beautiful and attractive to many tourists that visit our country. I can start of my plan by recycling materials into usable things that can be useful to me and everybody. Planting more trees is also another way of preventing flood and lessen the damage in the environment, it can also prevent soil erosion that causes landslides, and reduce global warming.
Protecting our indigenous plants and animals can multiply them and they can breed into new species. Conserving and preserving our natural resources is one way to make our country more reproductive and attractive. Since ecological sustainability is very to our country, conservation and restoration of a native forest or woodland might support the establishment of a rich and diverse ecosystem. Many people should be aware of the importance of our natural resources which is now deteriorating, and all people are capable of playing their part too.

Indigenous and endangered plant and animal species within the Philippines and measures taken to conserve, preserve, and protect these species at a broader level

Some examples of the indigenous and endangered plant and animal species in the Philippines are the Philippine eagle, Philippine spotted deer, Green turtle, Tarsier, Philippine Sailfin Lizard, and Philippine Monitor Lizard for the animals. Jade vine, Fan Palm, Kabantigi, and Tree Fern for the plants. According to the Republic Act No. 7586 of the Philippines also known as National Integrated Protected Area System of 1992. This aims to provide and protect our natural resources and our indigenous plants and animals due to the impact of man's activities on all components of our natural environment, particularly the effect of increasing population, resource exploitation and industrial advancement. In order to protect these indigenous plants and animals, there should always be restriction measures on hunting, transporting, and trading the species. The government should develop recovery plants for endangered and threatened species, which outline the steps that need to be taken for the species to recover. Other acts that aim to protect our endangered species, such as Marine Mammal Protection Act, and Endangered Species Act. We should also encourage the government to create more wildlife sanctuaries for the protection of our endangered species. In my part, I will help inform people to lessen deforestation so that there will be more homes for the species and their protection so that they will increase and insure safety to their environment.
